She currently serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Child and Family Studies Department at SUNY Empire State University. Her expertise includes trauma-informed practice, culturally centered frameworks in curriculum development, program evaluation, and adult learning. A nationally recognized author and speaker, Lynette’s research and service work focus on empowering underserved populations through education, equity, and applied innovation in youth program design. Janelle Archer is a strategic, mission-driven leader with over a decade of experience in youth workforce development, program oversight, and community engagement. She currently manages a citywide portfolio of afterschool programs for the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), where she leads cross-sector collaborations, oversees program compliance, and delivers targeted technical assistance to community-based organizations. With a strong focus on culturally centered frameworks, Janelle's background in admissions, college access, and public service enriches her understanding of the systems that shape young people’s educational and career journeys. Her work in youth program design is grounded in equity, performance improvement, and innovative curriculum development, creating practical solutions that expand opportunity and outcomes for youth and families.
